Data GateKit processes

When a merchant installs GateKit, Shopify provides the shop domain and an authorization session required to operate the app. GateKit stores the merchant's age-gate configuration in Shopify app-owned data.

Storefront visitors

GateKit records the visitor's verification result in that visitor's browser. GateKit does not store birth dates on its servers. The merchant's storefront may separately process data under its own privacy policy.

How data is used

Data is used only to provide, secure, maintain, and support GateKit, comply with law, and prevent abuse. GateKit does not sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

App sessions are retained only as needed to operate the service. Shopify's mandatory privacy requests are supported. Merchants may request access or deletion through the support address below.

Security and subprocessors

GateKit uses Shopify and Microsoft Azure to provide the service. Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
